Yuan-Sheng Tsai
Quick Facts
Biography
Yuan-Sheng Tsai (Chinese: 蔡元勝, born 1969), is a Taiwanese artist born in Taipei. He has been fascinated by painting since his childhood. After obtaining the fine art background in Taiwan, he set off to study in Spain in 1996. The overseas experience is the turning point for his creations because those well-known Spanish masterpieces had a great influence on Tsai. The artist started to face his inner part bravely and then creating art works with sincerity. In both Taiwan and Spain, Tsai had awarded several representative art prizes. During 1996 to 2006, he completed the fine art study of MA and PhD in Spain.
Art characteristics
Dancing colours, waving lines, they are the rhythmic tempos in Tsai's painting music. There are numerous types of pigments he applied on works. He even uses his hand-made pigments in order to express his feeling clearly and completely. The overlapping and intricate elements in his works are, also like the hundreds of storyboards for a film. Visitors would also feel those elements as "spirits" turns to be bigger or smaller, or even greatly transform.
