William I. Robinson

William I. Robinson is a sociologist and professor of sociology, global studies, and Latin American studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Robinson's expertise lies in the areas of global capitalism, political economy, Latin America, and critical theory.

Some of Robinson's notable works include his books "A Theory of Global Capitalism" and "Global Capitalism and the Crisis of Humanity." He has also written extensively on issues such as neoliberalism, social movements, and globalization.

Robinson holds a PhD in sociology from the University of New Mexico and has been a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara since 1989.

Robinson has received several awards and honors throughout his career, including the 2018 Frantz Fanon Lifetime Achievement Award from the Caribbean Philosophical Association and the 2016 Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award from the American Sociological Association's Section on Political Economy of the World-System.
