Biography
Wang Luodan (born January 30, 1984) is a Chinese actress and singer. She graduated from the Beijing Film Academy in 2005. In 2007, she rose to fame because of the TV series, Struggle. She became increasingly popular after starring in My Youthfulness and A Story of Lala's Promotion.
Life
Wang was born in Inner Mongolia, a common family. Wang has a sister. From an early age, her parents have put a lot of pressure on her. She learned to play the piano but, decided to be an actress because she was affected by her sister. Wang was popular when she was in school because she was the only drummer. In 2001, 1 year after her sister went to the Beijing Dance Academy, Wang went to Beijing and entered herself for an examination. She was classmates with two famous actress named Huang Shengyi and Huang Jiayin.
Career
Wang graduated from Beijing Film Academy in 2005. She rose to fame for her role in the highly popular youth television drama, Struggle.
She further gained popularity through the 2009 idol drama My Youthfulness, which drew high audience ratings. The same year, she was chosen as one of the four Huadan actresses with Liu Yifei, Yang Mi and Huang Shengyi.
This was followed by another successful drama, Go La La Go!. Wang and Li Guangjie (her co-star in the show) were known as the "National Couple". She also earned the title of "Ratings Queen". In 2010, she was cast in the film Driverless. Wang was praised by critics for her performance.
Due to her popularity, she was chosen as the Golden Eagle Goddess in 2010.
In 2012, Wang starred in the republic-era war drama Hong Niang Zi, which broke her previous typecasting as a "pure and innocent maiden". The series achieved high ratings on Jiangsu Television. The same year, she won Best Supporting Actress at the 29th Golden Rooster Awards for her performance in Caught in the Web.
Wang then took a break from acting, heading to America to further her studies for three months.
After she returned from her hiatus, Wang continued to gain attention through playing notable/memorable characters in To the Fore, Rise of the Legend and The Virtuous Queen of Han.
