Vitaly Vladimirov (Russian: Вита́лий Вади́мович Влади́миров) (born July 24, 1968 in Sverdlovsk, USSR) — Soviet and russian trombonist, composer, arranger, conductor.
Awardee of international contests.
Laureate of the awards of Sverdlovsk region governor "For outstanding achievements in literature and art" Head of the department, professor of arrangement class, creator of Big-Band of Sverdlovsk musical college named after P. Chaikovsky (Yekaterinburg)
Art director and main conductor of Krasnodar Big-band named after Georgy Garanyan (2010-2011)
At 1980-1990th took an active part in Sverldlovsk rock-club activity, participated in records and performances of famous "ural rock" groups like "Chaif", "Association" and others.
Biography
Vitaly Vladimirov was born on 24th of July in 1968 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg).
Studied trombone at Sverdlovsk musical college named after P. Chaikovsky and Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture.
In 1985 started professional career as a trombonist in "Gamma-jazz" group of the famous sverdlovsk guitar player Valery Birikh.
From 1985 took an active part in projects of composer and piano player Mikhail Agre (Israel), including his experiments is the field of creating a musical space of the contemporary chamber theater.
At 1990-1992 - while working at Ural Philharmonic Orchestra worked on arrangements for author's plays for musical theater of the Saint-Petersburg composer Anatoly Zatin.
At 1993-1995 - soloist of the group "AMA-jazz" with saxophone player Igor Paraschuk and trumpet player Sergey Pron. As a pert of this band participated in russian-french festival (Moscow, Protvino, Chernogolovka) in 1993.
From 2000 - head of the jazz music department and professor of arrangement class at Sverdlovsk musical college named after P. Chaikovsky.
From 2001 - art director of his own Big-band.
From 2003 - member of trio FREEBRASS (Pron, Paraschuk, Vladimirov).
Up to 2006 - art director, soloist and arranger of Ural State orchestra of jazz music.
From 2007 - member of quintet David Orchestra (Saifullin, Paraschuk, Vladimirov, Titov, Kravtsov).
From 2007 - soloist and conductor of Georgy Garanian Big-Band (Krasnodar).
Creative characteristics
Spectacular performer and arranger, one of the brightest jazz trombonists, living now in Eurasia. There is no other trombonist in Russia, who can play so masterly and think so creative and mature at the same time. Creative approach to the play and the incredible intuition of an ensemlist allow him to freely work in the musical fields from symphonic orchestra to duet or trio of improvisation. Musician with the widest of performing interests and technical range regularly participates in concerts and studio sessions with Russian, European and American musicians (Georgij Garanyan, Askhat Saifullin, Sergey Pron, Igor Parashuk, Roy Yang, Peter Brötzmann, Richie Cole, Vitaly Imirelli, Jessy Jones, Julia Nixon, Denis Ernandez, Nicole Henry, Melton Mustafa, Stanley Jordan, Kevin Mahogany, Carla Cook, Ron Holloway, Niki Harris, Rosario Giuliani, Mike DelFerro)
