Biography

Tatjana "Tanja" Savić (Serbian Cyrillic: Татјана "Тања" Савић; born 20 March 1985) is a Serbian pop-folk singer. She achieved recognition as the second runner-up on the televised singing competition Zvezde Granda in 2004. Her debut studio album, Tako mlada, was released in June the following year.

Life and career

Tatjana Savić was born and raised in the village of Radinac near Smederevo, alongside a brother and a sister. In a 2004 interview, she declared that she was of Romani descent, but has since denied it. At the age of eight she won at the "First Voice of Vojvodina" music festival.

Savić auditioned for the first season of the televised singing contest Zvezde Granda in 2003, finishing in third place at the 2004 finale. Despite not winning the competition, she was signed to the Grand Production record label due to her general popularity during the contest. This led to her debut album Tako mlada in 2005 that turned into a major commercial success, paving the way for her career that followed. Her two songs "Suknjica" (Little Skirt) and "Gde ljubav putuje" (Where Love Travels) were featured in the movies Gucha: Distant Trumpet and Serbian Scars (2008), respectively. She appeared on the second season of the Serbian spin-off of the global franchise Your Face Sounds Familiar in 2014. After several years of hiatus, due to personal reasons, Savić managed to retrieve her initial popularity with the single "Oči boje viskija" (Whiskey Coloured Eyes) featuring Serbian rappers Corona and Rimski in 2017. She continued collaborating with the hip-hop duo on her forthcoming album.

In 2011, Savić married Serbian-Australian businessman Dušan Jovančević with whom she has two sons, Maksim (b. 29 December 2010) and Đorđe (b. 30 June 2012). She used to live in Australia with her family, until they relocated back to Serbia in April 2015.
