Biography
Sybil Tawse (26 September 1886 – March 1971), English artist and illustrator.
Life
Tawse was born in Sunderland, England, the fifth child of George Tawse and Elizabeth Ann Harrison. The census for 1891 shows the family living at Bishopwearmouth, County Durham, England.
During her career as artist and illustrator, she lived in London. The 1911 Census shows her living at 19 Gloucester Road, S Kensington, London, with her sisters Catherine and Gladys.
She died in 1971 in Portsmouth, at the age of 84. She never married.
Work
She contributed illustrations to a number of works. A selection is:
