Biography
Susan P. Casteras is a professor of the history of art at the University of Washington. Casteras received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her doctorate from Yale University. Casteras was curator of paintings and sculpture, Yale Center for British Art, 1977-1996, and lecturer, History of Art Department, 1978 to 1996. Casteras is a specialist in Victorian art, particularly Pre-Raphaelitism.
Casteras's The Grosvenor Gallery: A Palace of Art in Victorian England (1996) was the first detailed study of the Grosvenor Gallery.
