Sonia Ben Ammar (born 19 February 1999 in Paris) is a French fashion model of Polish and Tunisian descent, actress and singer known mononymously as SONIA. Her first music video for the single "Joyride" premiered on Billboard on 26 September 2019, hinting at an upcoming EP release. PAPER Magazine later revealed another track, "Games," on 29 October 2019, announcing that her four-track debut EP would be released on 8 November 2019.
Biography
Ben Ammar is the daughter of the film producer Tarak Ben Ammar and actress Beata Ben Ammar. Her Tunisian-born father is Muslim.Ben Ammar played minor roles in the film Jappeloup and the stage musical 1789: Les Amants de la Bastille. She graduated from the American School of Paris and started attending the University of Southern California in fall 2017.
In 2016, Ben Ammar signed with IMG Models and has since modeled for Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, Carolina Herrera, Topshop, Nina Ricci and Chanel. She has also appeared in magazines such as Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar Arabia, Love, and L'Officiel.
