Simaika Mikaele (born 9 May 1978) is a rugby union player in the Samoa Sevens team. He is one of the world's best Seven's rugby players and has represented Samoa since 2001.
Mikaele is from Vailele on the island of Upolu in Samoa. Other team players from Vailele include Mikaele Pesamino.
Samoa sevens
The Samoa Sevens team represent Samoa internationally in rugby sevens, a competitive sports tournament titled the IRB Sevens World Series which takes place annually in seven countries; United Arab Emirates, South Africa, New Zealand, United States, Hong Kong, Australia, England and Scotland.
"Flop"
Simaika was seen in a display quoted as "one of the worst sporting dives you are likely to see."The video can be seen in the links below. The 'flop' was intended, and received as a joke. Simaika is known to joke during games (as in the video - none of the "punches" land or were even intended to). Joking during games is typical of Southern Island rugby.
