Shalkal Carty (born January 6, 1985) is a Jamaican dancehall/reggae artist, singer, composer and entrepreneur.[1] He is professionally and primarily known as Shalkal. He debuted on the musical scene in 2019. After his debut, he has already gained prominence with his metaphorical lyrics that resonate with the temperaments of typical Jamaican people. Shalkal is known to draw inspiration from his Jamaican heritage while composing music. His lyrics is full of Jamaican metaphors, riddles, and at the same time he includes stories from his own life experience.
