Biography
Sarah Cole is a U.S. writer and academic administrator specializing in British literature from the 19th and 20th centuries. She is the incoming interim dean of the Columbia University School of the Arts. Cole is a Parr Professor of English and Comparative Literature and Dean of Humanities in the Columbia University faculty of arts and sciences.
Life
Cole earned a B.A. in English from Williams College. She completed a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. She is the Parr Professor of English and Comparative Literature and Dean of Humanities at Columbia University.. In July 2023, Cole was announced as the incoming interim dean of the Columbia University School of the Arts, succeeding Carol Becker. She assumes the role on September 1, 2023.
