Sara Nicol Concha Smith (born 9 September 1995) is a Chilean speech therapist and politician currently serving as Deputy from District 19 of Nuble Region since 2022. She was elected to the Chamber of Deputies from Christian Conservative Party she cofounded in January 2020.
Background and career
Sara Concha was born in Chillan in 1995 to an evangelical Christian family. She had her primary education at Colliguay and Quinchamalí Basic School and secondary education at Darío Salas Multipurpose School in Chillan commune finishing in 2013. She began her university education at University of Bío-Bío and later transferred to the University of Alba where she earned her bachelor's degree in speech therapy.
Concha started her political career while in the university and cofounded with fellow students, Christian Conservative Party (PCC). She ran in the May 2021 conventional constituent elections for the Ñuble Region under the coalition of Social Christian Front (FSC) but lost after securing only 2,239 or 1.43 per cent of the votes cast. Same year, she ran under same coalition for the Chamber of Deputies to represent District 19 in the Nuble Region. She was elected with 5,303 or 3.15 per cent of the votes cast in her fourth year in the university and at 26 years of age, she became the youngest Deputy. After the dissolution of the Christian Conservative Party she joined the National Renewal party. Her political view is pro-life and she actively participates in anti-abortion movements. She is against explicit sexual education.
