Salih Sarıkaya

Salih Sarıkaya is a prominent Turkish journalist, writer and blogger. He is the Editor in Chief of Digital Review, an online digital trends and technology reviews magazine.He was the founding Editor in Chief of Digital Edition of Meydan Daily Newspaper. He also wrote blog for Today's Zaman. He came to the Meydan from the Zaman Media Group where he was the Social Media and Trends & Traffic Director of Zaman Newspaper (Turkey's widest circulating daily) and Media Group. Prior to that he worked as defence and security correspondent formerly. He began his career as a reporter in Istanbul. He has contributed to the international media as an analyst about the events in Turkey.SARIKAYA was on the list of 'journalists to be arrested'.
Since 2007, he has begun as a blogger and later on as editor and journalist. He has been elected as a Professional Member of PEN America and PEN International. He is also a member of Society of Professional Journalists.

He began his career at Zaman Newspaper, Turkey's best selling daily. He worked as defence and security correspondent in time of deep state trials in Turkey. He has specialised in writing about terrorism, defence, financial crimes and drugs. Sarıkaya has covered all the major investigations in Turkey including Coup Plans like Ergenekon(Deep State Organization), Balyoz (Sledgehammer Coup Plan). He has also written about Turkish drug policy and international developments. He also worked as war correspondent in Syria during Syrian Civil War. His works also published in Today's Zaman an English daily in Turkey and Aksiyon Turkish weekly news magazine. He was tried in 33 separate cases because of his writings. He wrote a book analysing Turkish media; 'Lies, Slanders, Distortions: Neo-28 Feb Coup Putschist's Lie News File Holder’. He knows Turkish (native), English (advanced), German (conversant), Arabic (basic) and Kurdish (basic).
