Biography

Saint Wenna (c. 472 – c. 18 October 544) is a Cornish saint and the dedicatee of several churches, venerated in the Eastern Orthodox Church, Roman Catholic Church, and Anglican Communion.
The Wenna who founded the church in Morval, Cornwall was known in Wales as Gwen ferch Cynyr, the daughter of Cynyr Ceinfarfog of Caer Goch, Pembrokeshire. She married Salomon of Cornwall of and became the mother of Saint Cybi. She was also the aunt of Saint David.
The Wenna who founded the church of Talgarth and St Wenn and chapels at St Kew and Cheristowe (in Stoke-by-Hartland, Devon) was accounted a daughter of Brychan.
