Biography

Romita Ray (born 1970) is an associate professor and art & music history department chair at Syracuse University.

She is known for her work on the history of the British Empire and the tea trade with India in cultural objects and has done extensive work researching various public collections. Her spoken commentary on a portrait of Elihu Yale at the Yale Center for British Art about the history and context of it is on their website.
