Biography
Roger Edward Alfred Farmer (born April 4, 1955) is a British/American economist. He is an Emeritus Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is currently a Professor at the University of Warwick and Research Director at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. He known for his work on self-fulfilling prophecies. Farmer has published a number of scholarly articles in leading academic journals. Previously he has held positions at the University of Pennsylvania, the European University Institute and the University of Toronto. His son is the economist Leland Edward Farmer, who is joining the faculty of the University of Virginia in July 2017.
