Reba Hancock (born January 28, 1934,) was an American film producer known for producing Gospel Road: A Story of Jesus. She is the sister of country music legend Johnny Cash.
Early life
Reba Hancock was born Reba Cash on January 28, 1934, in Arkansas, to Carrie Cloveree (née Rivers) and Ray Cash. She had six siblings: Louise Cash, Roy Cash, Jack Cash, and famed musicians Johnny Cash, Tommy Cash, and Joanne Cash.
Through Johnny's marriage, she was the sister-in-law of singer June Carter Cash.
Career
In 1973, Hancock produced Gospel Road: A Story of Jesus, starring Johnny Cash, Robert Elfstrom, June Carter Cash, and Paul L. Smith. The film shot on location in Israel shows black-clad Johnny Cash narrating this version of the story of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. Cash also performed a number of original songs in his signature style.
Earlier, in 1971, Hancock appeared in Ralph Edwards' TV series This Is Your Life.
Death
Hancock died on March 5, 2006, (aged 72) in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
