Biography
Rajive Kumar (Hindi:राजीव कुमार) is a 1981 batch IAS officer belonging to Uttar Pradesh cadre. He currently is the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh.
Education
Rajive holds a Post Graduate degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University, and is also a Post Graduate in Phsysics (MSc).
Career
Apart from being the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Rajive Kumar has served in various key positions for both the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Union Government, including as the Commissioner of Meerut, Saharanpur and Faizabad divisions, the Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC), Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh State Mineral Corporation, Executive Director of Udyog Bandhu, the District Magistrate and Collector of Mathura and Firozabad districts, and as the Vice Chairman of Mathura Development Authority in the UP government, and as Union Roads Secretary, Union Shipping Secretary and as Special Secretary in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Additional Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat, Joint Secretary in Department of Economic Affairs of Ministry of Finance in in the Union government.
Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh
After being repatriated to his state cadre by the Union Government on the request of Uttar Pradesh government on 20 June 2017, Rajive Kumar was appointed the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Government by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on 29 June 2017.
Shipping Secretary
Rajive Kumar was appointed as the Shipping Secretary of India by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on 1 December 2014. He was given the additional charge of Ministry of Roads by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on 10 May 2017.
