Biography
R. Vaithilingam is an Indian politician and a member of the Rajya Sabha from the state of Tamil Nadu. He was Minister for Housing and Urban Development in the Government of Tamil Nadu from 2011 to 2016. As a cadre of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, he was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Orathanad constituency in 2001, 2006 and 2011.
On 3rd June 2016, he was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha along with three others of his party.
