R. Rathnavelu

R. Rathnavelu is anacclaimed and most sought after Indian cinematographer who has worked predominantly in Tamil and Telugu films. His work in films such as" Sethu, Nandha, Vaaranam Aayiram, Enthiran(Robot) "1 Nenokadine ,Rangasthalam, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, fetched him outstanding name and has gained recognition. He has garnered three Filmfare Awards South, the Vijay Awards, the Tamil Nadu State Film Award, two SIIMA Award and the prestigious Kalaimamani Award bestowed by the Tamil nadu state government for his work.

Rathnavelu a member of the Indian Society of Cinematographers and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and completed the three year Diploma in Film Technology in cinematography from the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute. Hewent on to assist Cinematographer Rajeev Menon for the Mani Rathnam movie Bombay .
