I commenced to work for the betterment of the marginalised inhabitants of West Bengal since 2012. I pursued my journalism courses from the Calcutta University followed by M.B.A with the specialization in Human Resource the Sikkim Manipal University.
I diversified my focus towards the life style of the sex workers and the encumbrances of their life. I hailed from Hooghly district of West Bengal and completed my education from Kolkata.
Why I Chosen to works for the sex workers.
We live in a society that judges people by their profession. A doctor or engineer might be considered a highly-respected occupation, while a painter or a dancer might not be appreciated much for their choice of profession. A girl staying at home all day might be considered an ‘ideal’ woman, while the one returning home late, it’s might lead to some gossip and speculations in the neighborhood. These characteristics of the society are an example of discrimination between the so called Ideal House Wife and Late comer Woman.
However, let’s take a tour on the overview of the life style a commercial sex worker. Apart from some leisure prose most of grail brings to the Red Light area through the false commitment or by forced. Human Traffickers are mainly the player to bring them. I found that even a seven year old grail was brought in a brothel by some inhuman people and she was sold in respect of 25 Thousands only. Often and often the Lovers of grails also sold them in a brothel in respect of hand some amount. In Bengali the dressed name of these people is AAR KATHI. They are operating their operation across the state usual beyond the boundaries of this state.
It is fact that a bill being names The Trafficking of Persons (Prevention, Protection and Rehabilitation) Bill, 2018 in the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Minister for Women & Child Development, Maneka Gandhi, who presented the bill in Lok Sabha, claimed the bill was needed as special crimes need special attention and that the bill will ensure the protection of vulnerable women and children from being ‘bought and sold’. But the overall condition is in same ebb.
In 2011, the SC constituted a panel which submitted its report in 2019. The panel has asked the apex court to direct the NCRB to compile data on missing children and women to identify the areas prone to trafficking. According to the NCRB study, the common causes of trafficking were forced marriages, child labour, domestic help and sexual exploitation, among others.
The grails that ware trafficked from various parts of this state maximum becoming a product for commercial sex.
These grails are in under pressure to do unsafe sex. However, some NGO and welfare organization are trying to convince them in the favor of safe sex to prevent AIDS.
There are lots of the encumbrances in the life of sex workers and felt a call from the core of my heart and pushed myself in to this filed for the betterment of the sex workers.
