Biography
Known for fine art as well as murals and sculptures, Pose was named one of CNN’s Ones to Watch in 2014. Shepard Fairey has described his work as “a hybrid of the aesthetics of pop art, graffiti, sign painting and comics that are all areas of his interest done in his own style.”
Pose has been featured numerous times in Juxtapoz Art & Culture Magazine and praised for his work's bubbling colors, hidden characters, and intricate design, making him a favorite amongst both graffiti enthusiasts and the fine art world.
Pose earned a degree in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2004. In 2005, he and artist/photojournalist KC Ortiz founded We Are Supervision, a creative agency that focuses on large-scale, hand-painted signs and billboard mural painting. In 2013, he teamed with artist Revok to paint the historic Houston and Bowery Wall where Keith Haring and Juan Dubose once collaborated.
Pose's sculptures and paintings have appeared in numerous books, magazines and films as well as galleries and private collections. He has traveled to Tahiti, Dubai, Melbourne, Spain, South Africa, Polynesia, Brazil and beyond to paint murals and exhibit his work and is considered a name in Chicago's graffiti scene. Pose is also a member of the West Coast artists’ collective Seventh Letter as well as MSK (Mad Society Kings), a world-renowned graffiti crew.
