Pieter Verhees (born December 8, 1989 in Overpelt, Belgium) is a Belgian volleyball player, a member of the Belgian national team and Italian club Vero Volley Monza, a participant of the Junior European Championship 2008, European Championship 2011, European Championship 2013, FIVB World Championship 2014 and bronze medalist of the European Volleyball Championship U19 2007, silver medalist of the Belgium championship 2011, gold medalist of the Belgium championship 2012, silver medalist of the CEV Cup 2013, silver medalist of the CEV Challenge Cup 2014 and Bronze medalist of FIVB World League 2014 (Group 2).
Personal life
Pieter Verhees was born in Lommel, but raised in Overpelt, Belgium. In his youth he played basketball, football, karate, etc. but moved to the class with volleyball. Pieter has three younger brothers. He is 2m05 tall and plays on the position of mid blocker. Verhees swapped for the season of 2011-2012, the volleyball team Euphony Asse-Lennik for Noliko Maaseik. After playing there for one year he relocated to Italy to play at Top Volley Latina. Next year he will be playing at the Italian club Pallavolo Modena In the year 2013 he obtained his university degree of Physical Education and Movement Sciences at the Free University of Brussels. He is part of the Belgiums national volleyball team.
