Paul Barbera (born September 19, 1973) is a New York City-based photographer best known for his book Where They Create.
Early life
Paul was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. As an Australian of Italian descent, he graduated University of Melbourne’s Victoria College of Arts with a degree in fine arts in 1994. He got his major career break at the age of 24 when he submitted a quirky picture of a chair to Marie Claire in 1997.
Career
His work primarily focuses on interiors performing both editorial and advertising work for Vogue Living, Elle Decor. Some of his notable advertising clients including Coca-Cola, Ikea and Wolf Blass. He has also shown his work in galleries. His work has selected for archival by the National Archives of Australia.
Style
Even though his portfolio covers a large scope of work, Paul primarily shoots in natural light refrains from a large setup process to leave the space as native setting to capture as much as the soul and warmth of the space.
