Mayjen TNI (Purn.) Edward Waldemar Pahala Tambunan atau lebih dikenal dengan nama E.W.P. Tambunan (lahir di Balige, Sumatra Utara, 1927 - meninggal di Jakarta, 17 Januari 2006) adalah Gubernur Sumatra Utara periode 1978-1983. Jenazahnya dimakamkan di makam pahlawan Kalibata, Jakarta. Tambunan dikenal karena merupakan penggagas salam Sumatra Utara seperti "Horas", "Majua-jua", "Penjua-jua", "Ahoi". Tambunan juga dikenal karena menduniakan Pesta Danau Toba, pesta budaya terbesar di Sumatra Utara yang menjadi daya tarik bagi wisatawan.
