Biography
Oliver Ready (born 1976) is a research fellow in Russian Society and culture at St Antony's College, Oxford. He had completed his Phd at Wolfson College, Oxford.
He has translated Crime and Punishment, The Zero Train, Before and During, and The Prussian Bride. of which the translation won the Rossica Translation Prize, in 2005.
He has co-translated The Maisky diaries.
He is the author of Persisting in Folly: Russian Writers in Search of Wisdom, 1963-2013 '(Peter Lang: Oxford, 2017)''''.
He was director of the Russkiy Mir Programme at St. Antony's between 2011 and 2014, and he has also interest in writing about Russian culture and literature.
An earlier writer with a similar name Oliver George Ready wrote Life and sport in China in 1904.
