Maya Sundarakrishnan

Maya S Krishnan is an Indian actress who works in the Tamil film industry. She made her acting debut in the college musical flick Vaanavil Vaazhkai (2015) and became noted for her performances in Thodari (2016) and 2.0 (2017).

Maya born and brought up in India (Madurai), did her schooling in Madurai. Maya has been a gymnast since her childhood and stood 6th in gymnastics during the Nationals. She pursued to become an Engineer and moved to Bangalore. Being an automobile lover, she rode a gear bike to college everyday.

Through the course of her college, she realized her passion for acting and theatre when she signed up for the Tamil movie , Vaanavil Vaazhkai along with many other debutant actors/singers. She has also modelled for various advertisements like Prince jewellery and is a lead vocalist for the band The 5th fret.

Her theatre career started off with The Little Theatre , a Chennai based theatre company. She worked with several projects of theirs like The Little festival, Their annual pantomime and the Hospital Clowning program. Maya does clowning twice a week at various hospitals across Chennai. 'It fulfills me as an actor , when I bring a smile to their faces' says the actor who strongly believes, laughter is the best medicine.

Other than gymnastics, Maya is trained in Silambattam and performs stunt sequences, effortlessly.

Maya is currently working on more high-profile films including Shankar’s 2.0, Bramma’s Magalir Mattum and Anand Balki’s Server Sundaram. She subsequently appeared in two short film with actors Livingston and Charuhasan. Maya began her film career with a role in James Vasanthan’s Vaanavil Vaazhkai, where she had to cut her hair short to play a singer. The film had a low-key theatrical release and did not perform well at the box office.
