Biography
Matt Doherty Jr. is a former Northern Irish professional association football player who played for Derry City FC. He is the son of Matt Doherty Sr., who also played for (and eventually managed) the Derry club.
Career
As an amateur, Doherty played with Derry and District League teams, Don Bosco's F.C. and Foyle Harps Y.F.C. in his youth before signing as a pro for Derry City FC in the Irish League between 1956 and 1960. He returned to the club in 1963 and stayed there until 1970.
