After this, he accepted the offer of presenting the drivetime slot for a year but soon after the station was sold.
Powell then arrived at TFM Radio, presenting the 10 am - 1 pm slot. He once did his show naked in protest of the lack of cool air in the studio. The story with a photo got onto page 7 of the Daily Sport.
The Wave, Valleys Radio and Swansea Sound
Mark Powell presented the mid-morning show on The Wave until 2008 when he was transferred to sister station Valleys Radio to present the breakfast show. However, he freelanced with The Wave, doing the Saturday morning show. After a couple of months, owners of Valleys Radio, UTV, announced they would be shutting the station down on 30 April 2009, after just over 13 years of being on air. Therefore, Powell arrived back at The Wave in May 2009 to host the drive show. Mark moved to AM Oldies station Swansea Sound in June 2014 again presenting Drive Time and was on air at the time of the station's 40th anniversary.
