Biography

Marc Sneyd is an English professional rugby league footballer for English Super League club, Hull F.C.. He previously played for Castleford Tigers and Salford Red Devils. His usual position is either stand-off half or scrum half.

Club career

Salford Red Devils

Having come through the club's junior ranks, Sneyd made his debut for Salford in 2010, playing 6 games. He featured more regularly in 2011, playing 12 games, scoring 1 try and kicking a goal. However, due to a strong halfback combination in 2012 his gametime was limited and he only played 5 times. He did score 2 tries and kick 14 goals for a total of 36 points.

Due to an injury to Theo Fages, Sneyd got a chance at halfback against Leeds, he performed well and kicked a goal. He backed this up with a match winning try and 5 goals against Hull Kingston Rovers. Sneyd kicked 11 goals and scored a try as Salford beat Gloucestershire All Golds. He also kicked 5 goals in the win against Castleford, marking Brian Noble's 1st game in charge of the Reds.

Castleford Tigers

Sneyd spent the 2014 season on a season loan at Castleford and appeared in the 2014 Challenge Cup final. This was Sneyd's breakthrough season in which he scored 7 tries and kicked 117 goals in just 31 appearances.

Hull F.C.

At the end of the 2014 season, Sneyd joined Hull for a reported 6-figure transfer fee and has since become the team's regular goal-kicker and Stand-off half

In 2016, Sneyd kicked 130 goals and became the league's top goal-kicker. He also won the 2016 Challenge Cup against Warrington Wolves, kicking 2 goals in the narrow 12-10 win. Sneyd was made man-of-the-match and won the prestigious Lance Todd Trophy as a result, only the 2nd Hull player to do so.
