Biography
Malthe M. Hasselriis (1888 - 1970) was a Danish painter.
Hasselriis was a self-taught miniaturist whose sitters included Pearl S. Buck, Madame Chiang Kai-shek (Soong Mei-ling), and President John F. Kennedy.
In addition, Hasselriis was a talented illustrator, providing watercolors for stories by Pearl S. Buck, and for editions of The Ugly Duckling and Tales of a Chinese Grandmother.
He won the Levantia White Boardman award for best miniature twice - in 1948 and 1956.
