Biography

Maghsoud Farasatkhah(born 1956)is an Iranian sociologist who was born in Tabriz.He is a Professor at Institute for Research and Planning in Higher Education.

Biography

His university education was in Philosophy, Theology and Higher Education Planning. Farasatkhah (also known Ferasatkhah) teaches at Allameh Tabatabae’i, University of Tehran, Shahid Beheshti and Islamic Azad Universities.

Awards

tenth Farabi International Festival (Feb 7 2019)

He received the 18th award of popularization of sciences which was held on World Science Day. UNESCO has put the name of the day Science for Peace and Sustainable Development. The jury Committee awarded Dr. Maghsoud Farasatkhah the prize for endless, responsible, purposeful, comprehensive, humanitarian, and ethical activities and efforts in academic and public areas for popularizing sociology knowledge and also his commitment to the continuity of cultural, promotional and scientific work.

Dehkhoda's award in its fourth period (2018) was awarded to Abbas Bazargan and Maghsoud Farasatkhah of the book "Supervision and Evaluation in Higher Education".

In the tenth Farabi International Festival (Feb. 7), the Maghsoud Farasatkhah was named the Interdisciplinary Studies Award.

Academic Lessons

Maghsoud Farasatkhah started teaching at Universities and Higher Education Centers in Tabriz since early 1990s.  He has taught at Alameh Tabatabae’I, Tehran, Alzahra, Shahid Beheshti since mid-1990s. His taught courses include “The History of Social Thought”, “Sociology of Religion”, “Policy making and Planning in Higher Education”, “Quality of University”, “Accreditation”, and “Qualitative Methodology”. Farasatkhah’s major research disciplines are mainly as follows: 1. Religion Studies, 2. Social Studies, 3. Science Studies, 4. Higher Education and Universities. Some parts of the researches are published in books and papers.
