Kumiko Maekawa

Kumiko Maekawa (前川 久美子, Maekawa Kumiko) is a retired Japanese professional wrestler and mixed martial artist. She wrestled for All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling.

Kumiko Maekawa debuted on October 4, 1991 for All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling.

On September 15, 1992 she captured the AJW Junior Championship and held it until June 11, 1993.

On November 20, 1994, at All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling "Big Egg Wrestling Universe" at the Tokyo Dome she defeated Sugar Miyuki in a kickboxing match.

She made it to the finals of the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling Tag League the Best 1996 with Tomoko Watanabe but lost to Manami Toyota and Rie Tamada on December 1, 1996. However, on January 20, 1997, the team captured the WWWA World Tag Team Championship by defeating Manami Toyota and Mariko Yoshida in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Maekawa and Watanabe lost the belts to their rivals, Etsuko Mita and Mima Shimoda on June 16, 1997 in Sapporo.

Maekawa challenged for the All Pacific Championship against Takako Inoue on November 23, 1997, but later teamed with Inoue to win the "Tag League The Best 1997" tournament on December 21, 1997.

Maekawa won the All Pacific Championship from Tomoko Watanabe on May 5, 1998. She held the title until she was defeated by Yasha Kurenai of Ladies Legend Pro-Wrestling at the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling "30th Anniversary Show" on November 29, 1998.

Maekawa made it to the finals of the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling 2001 Japan Grand Prix but was defeated by Momoe Nakanishi.

On January 3, 2005, she captured her first and only WWWA World Championship by defeating Ayako Hamada in Tokyo.

On August 17, 2005, at a Smackgirl event, she lost a mixed martial arts match to Keiko Tamai. On November 29, 2005 at Smackgirl's "Lightweight Anniversary" event, she lost to Tara LaRosa in a mixed martial arts match. .

On March 26, 2006, she retired, losing the WWWA World Championship to Nanae Takahashi in her final match.
