Biography
K. R. Ramasamy is an Indian politician, social worker and Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
Ramasamy is the son of veteran Indian National Congress politician and former MLA, KR. RM. Kariya Manickam Ambalam.
He was elected for five consecutive terms to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly as an Indian National Congress and Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) candidate from Tiruvadanai (State Assembly Constituency) in the 1989, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 elections.
Ramasamy was returned to the 15th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly after beating the incumbent C. T. Palanichamy for the Karaikudi constituency in the elections of 2016. On this occasion, he represented the Indian National Congress.
