Biography
José Antonio Rodríguez Romero (born 4 July 1992 in Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a Mexican footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Club León on loan from Guadalajara and the Mexico U-23 football team. He is an Olympic gold medalist.
Career
Jose Rodriguez started his career for C.D. Guadalajara, and made his debut on April 6, 2013 against Jaguares. In 2011, he was loaned to Veracruz for two seasons, and was the starting goalkeeper for the team. He returned to C.D. Guadalajara after two successful seasons with Veracruz, and became the starting goalkeeper of Guadalajara in 2014 after Luis Ernesto Michel was loaned to Saprissa of Costa Rica.
International
Rodriguez has represented Mexicoin the U-17, U-20, and U-23 divisions. He was among the squad that won the gold medal in the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
