Jon Wysocki (January 17, 1971—May 18, 2024) was an American alternative metal drummer. He was the founding member of the rock band Staind. He uses Orange County Percussion Drums and Zildjian instruments.
Wysocki was born on January 17, 1971, in Northampton, Massachusetts.
In 1995, he formed the band Staind with lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, and bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April.
Due to disagreements with his bandmates, Wysocki left Staind in May 2011, stating "I was very frustrated with it all [album's production], so I said to the guys, 'As much as I love this band and I love you guys, I gotta go. This is not the Staind we started out being.'" His last album with the band was the eponymous Staind released in September 2011.
After leaving Staind, Wysocki joined the Chicago rock outfit Soil with vocalist Ryan McCombs. He was with Soil until 2012, but never recorded with them.
Death
Wysocki died on May 18, 2024, at the age of 53, due to "issues with his liver that required him to be under the care of medical professionals."
