Biography
John Azor Kellogg (March 16, 1828–February 10, 1883) was an American military leader and politician from Wisconsin.
Born in Bethany, Pennsylvania, Kellogg settled in Sauk County, Wisconsin, where he studied law and was admitted to the bar. During the American Civil War, Kellogg served in the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment. After the war, Kellogg was a pension agent in La Crosse, Wisconsin and then moved to Wausau, Wisconsin, where he served in the Wisconsin State Senate.
Published works
Kellogg published articles about his involvement in the Civil War. In 1908, the articles were collected and published by the Wisconsin Historical Commission as Capture and Escape: A Narrative of Army and Prison Life.
