Biography

Joseph "Joe" Bulcock (April 1879 – 20 April 1918) was an English professional football right back, best remembered for his five years in the Southern League with Crystal Palace, for whom he made over 140 appearances. Earlier in his career, he played in the Football League for Bury. He represented the Southern League XI and the Football Association XI.

Personal life

Bulcock was the youngest of three brothers. He served as a private in the Welch Regiment during the First World War and died of wounds to the head at 36th Casualty Clearing Station in Watten, France on 20 April 1918. He was buried in Haringhe (Bandaghem) Military Cemetery, Belgium.
