Biography
Jefrey Callau Casanova is a Spanish football manager who last worked as coach at Bayamón FC in the Liga Puerto Rico.
Career
In 2008, Casanova began his coaching career at FC Barcelona Escola. From 2009 to 2010, he worked as a coach with the FC Barcelona Academies in Japan, China, Andorra, and Saudi Arabia. In 2011, he was signed as Head Coach of the U-16 team of Kitchee SC working with Josep Gombau who coached the first team. Two years later, in 2013 he was appointed Technical Director in the International Soccer Academy in New Delhi in India to develop a new model of game with the Barcelona methodology. Casanova also started a program asa volunteer doing training and scouting for the most disadvantaged boys from the slums in New Delhi.
In 2014 came back to Barcelona to continue with his UEFA coaching licenses. While he was in Barcelona he combined his studies with clinics to train players and coaches in the United States (North Carolina) Lithuania (Ateitis FC), Latvia (Babite SK) and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
From 2015-16 sports brand Nike hired Casanova to develop soccer in China (Shanghai). He is in charge of training their local coaches by theoretical and practical classes. One year later, Casanova moved to the US to be a professor at the One Touch Soccer Academy in New Jersey. He taught theoretical and practical classes to train the Youth Head Coaches of the New York Red Bull. At same time he was a Head Coach in the Boca Juniors Academy of New Jersey.
In 2018, he worked with David Villa's DV7 Soccer Academy in New York. Currently in 2019, Casanova is the Head Coach of Bayamón FC who play in the Liga Puerto Rico.
