Biography
Javed Malik is a Pakistani diplomat who currently serves as the Ambassador of Pakistan to Bahrain and the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Trade and Investment in the Gulf Cooperation Council during the third Sharif ministry. Previously, Malik has served as Pakistan's Ambassador at Large from 2008 to 2011 during the Gillani ministry.
Malik has initiated various trade and economic diplomacy projects aimed at promoting the business trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan. He also organised a number of seminars, conferences and has led delegations of investors to Pakistan.
Career
Diplomacy
In 2008, the Prime Minister of Pakistan appointed Javed Malik as Pakistan's Ambassador at Large with the status of a minister, advising and assisting the Prime Minister of Pakistan on issues relating to Overseas Pakistanis in the GCC. He organised the first session of the Overseas Pakistanis forum in the UAE. He subsequently resigned in 2011.
In 2012, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, appointed Javed Malik as his special advisor on Foreign Relations & Overseas Pakistanis.
In 2013, he was appointed as Prime Minister's Special Envoy to the GCC.
In 2014, following Sharif's return to office as prime minister of Pakistan, he appointed Malik in the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Overseas Investment and Trade.
In 2016, Javed Malik was designated as Pakistan's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Media
Malik has been associated with print and television media since 1999. He began his television career in London with Prime TV. He later joined ARY News, a Pakistani television network.
Malik is also the President and Publisher of The International Diplomat', a current affairs magazine, published from the UAE.
