Biography
Jason Forde (born 22 December 1993) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Silvermines and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2013.
Career
He played Minor Hurling for Tipperary in 2010 and 2011, he was captain of the side in 2011.
Forde was part of the Tipperary Under 21 team that lost to Clare in the 2012 Munster Final.
He made his senior debut for Tipperary in January 2013 against LIT in the 2013 Waterford Crystal Cup and scored three points. He made his league debut in February 2013, coming on in the second half against Cork in the 2013 National Hurling League and scored two points. On 21 April 2013 he won the man of the match award from TG4 for his performance against Dublin in the league semi-final win.
On 6 July 2013, he made his Championship debut when he came on as a second-half substitute against Kilkenny at Nowlan Park in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Qualifiers, a game which Tipperary lost by 1-14 to 0-20.
In October 2013, he was named in the 2013 Bord Gáis Energy Under 21 hurling team of the Year, after scoring 5-25 in the championship.
On 4 September 2016, Forde came on as a second half substitute and scored two points as he won his first All-Ireland Senior hurling title when Tipperary defeated Kilkenny in the final by 2-29 to 2-20.
