Biography

Janek Ambros (born April 19, 1988) is an American film director, screenwriter, and film producer. He's also the founder and CEO of Assembly Line Entertainment, a film production company. His most notable film as a director is the documentary Imminent Threat, which he also wrote, edited, and produced with Academy Award nominee James Cromwell. The film was released in late 2015 and he received the Best Editing Award at the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival. His most notable film as producer is Ten Thousand Saints, starring Hailee Steinfeld and Ethan Hawke. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015.

Janek Ambros began his film career writing and directing Avante-Garde films. Janek Ambros wrote and directed the Avant-garde film "May 15th in Paris", a film about the rise of populism in France during 1848 with visuals from present day Paris, highlighting the rise of populism in the west. The film sparked the first collaboration between himself and Martin Scorsese's producer of 40 years, Barbara De Fina. The film was released in the summer/fall of 2017 on Amazon Prime and a limited theatrical release. That same year, the adventure film "Valley of Bones" was released in 2017 nationwide which he produced; the film stars Autumn Reeser, Alexandra Billings, Steven Molony, and Rhys Coiro.

In the summer of 2017, his company, Assembly Line Entertainment, expanding to China when they brought in Jing Xue into the company. Later that year, Janek and Assembly Line Entertainment struck a creative partnership with one of Shanghai's largest studios and created a Chinese division of Assembly Line Entertainment.

Janek Ambros has written a series of short stories and political essays published by Sheriff Nottingham including "Political Theatre", "While the Neo-Conservatives Slept", and the "Nathaniel Chronicles."

Janek Ambros is also a frequent panelist at Freedom Fest, an annual political conference. His most recent panel was with David Boaz and Charles C. W. Cooke on civil liberties and human rights. Other notable speakers at Freedom Fest include Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman, Yeonmi Park, Donald Trump, Christopher Hitchens, and Marco Rubio
