BENEDEK István estis hungara psikiatro, verkisto, kulturhistoriisto. Li naskiĝis en Budapeŝto la 17-an de januaro 1915 kaj mortis en Venecio la 9-an de junio 1996. Li estis la filo de Marcell Benedek.

István Benedek estis uzinkuracisto de 1944 en Csepelen. De 1945 li instruis du jarojn en la Universitato Bolyai de Kluĵo. Li translokiĝis al Hungario en 1947.
