Biography
Huh Gak (허각) (born 15 November 1984) is a South Korean singer and the winner of the Mnet talent competition series ‘Superstar K’ 2 under Plan A Entertainment. He is known as ‘The man who turned the tables’ and ‘The South Korean Paul Potts’. He has an enzygotic twin named Huh Gong, who didn't apply to 'Superstar K' 2 because he was concerned that the judges had prejudice. Now he is also a singer.
Early life
Huh Gak was born on 15 November 1984. He is from Incheon, South Korea and lives with his father and his twin brother, Huh Gong. He graduated from ‘Hwanbuk Elementary School’ and ‘Incheon Boys’ School. As a young child, Huh Gak went through a family divorce and faced financial difficulties. Therefore, after middle school, he decided to drop out of school and make money. Before he appeared on Super Star K 2, he worked as a ventilator fixer and a festival singer.
Career
2010: Superstar K & Debut
Huh Gak appeared on Superstar K2 and took the first place spot. After winning Superstar K2, Huh Gak debuted with the single entitled, "Always". In November 2010, he released his first mini album which consists of five tracks including the title track, "Always." Huh Gak and Superstar K2's John Park also collaborated on a duet track for the movie, "Glove" entitled "My Best."
2011: Cube Entertainment & "First Story" album
In February 2011, after a month of searching for an entertainment agency, he decided to join A Cube Entertainment, a sub-label of Cube Entertainment despite of the other few offers that he received. He then joined Immortal Songs 2.
On 16 September, Huh Gak released his first official debut album entitled "First Story", which obtained a triple crown on Gaon charts and also made him win on M! Countdown and KBS Music Bank.
Personal life
On 3 October 2013, Huh Gak married his first love, whom he dated back in middle school. They two collided back together after 13 years and was said to have been dating since February 2012 prior to their engagement. In October 2014, Huh Gak revealed he had a son, Huh Gun, who was 7 months old.
