Hermanus Koekkoek (1815 – 1882), was a 19th-century painter from the Northern Netherlands.

Biography

He was born in Middelburg as the son of Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek. He was the brother of Barend Cornelis, Marinus Adrianus and Johannes. He became the father of Hermanus the Younger, Willem, Johannes Hermanus Barend, and Barend Hendrik.

Like his father and brothers, he is known for landscapes and seascapes and taught his sons to paint in the family tradition. He died in Haarlem.
