Biography

Henriette Gardelle (1905 - April 1928) was a French competitive swimmer from Paris. She was a member of Mouettes de Paris and later of Club des Nageurs de Paris and Swimming Club de Paris.

Biography

Gardelle participated for the first time in the Traversée de Lille à la nage [fr], an main open water competition in Paris in 1918. In 1921 and 1922 she finished second behind her sister Juliette Gardelle. She won the Traversée de Lille à la nage [fr] organized by the S.N.E.N. four times in 1923, 1924, 1925 and 1926 and became these years champion of Paris.

Personal life

Gardelle was born in 1905. Her sisters Juliette, Renée and Ella were also swimmers. She married to rower Mr. Prévost. She worked in a silk factory. Gardelle died young in April 1928. On 27 April she was burried at the cemetery of Joinville-le-Pont.
