Biography

Harold J. "Jack" Peterman (July 31, 1942 – August 10, 2016) was an American politician and a Republican member of the Delaware House of Representatives, representing District 33 from January 11, 2011 until his death on August 10, 2016.

Biography

Born in Milford, Delaware, Peterman graduated from high school and was a farmer. He died after a period of declining health in 2016 at the age of 74.

Elections

  • 2012 Peterman was unopposed for the September 11, 2012 Republican Primary, and won the November 6, 2012 General election with 4,825 votes (53.4%) against Democratic nominee John Robbins.
  • 2006 Peterman initially ran for the District 9 seat when Republican Representative G. Wallace Caulk, Jr. retired, but lost the September 12, 2006 Republican Primary; Democratic candidate Robert E. Walls won the November 7, 2006 General election.
  • 2008 Peterman and Walls were unopposed for their September 9, 2008 primaries, and Peterman lost the November 4, 2008 General election.
  • 2010 Peterman won the September 17, 2010 Republican Primary with 1,102 votes (56.3%), and Walls was unopposed in the Democratic Primary, setting up a rematch; Peterman won the November 2, 2010 General election with 4,313 votes (52.2%) against Walls.
