Giulio Meotti (born 21 February 1980) is an Italian journalist and essayist.
Biography
Meotti was born in Arezzo, the son of a goldsmith. He graduated in philosophy at the University of Florence with a Phd about George Steiner.
Since 2003, Meotti writes on Italian daily newspaper Il Foglio, where he is the Cultural Editor. Through his career, he wrote also for international publications such as Gatestone Institute, The Wall Street Journal, Commentary, National Review, Arutz Sheva, Jerusalem Post, Fox News, Jüditsche Allgemeine, Yedioth Ahronoth and FrontPage Magazine.
His book A New Shoah: The Untold Story of Israel's Victims of Terrorism, which was translated in English and Norwegian, has been described by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin as "a valuable publication that presents a comprehensive picture of the many acts of terrorism against Israeli citizens."
Political views
Meotti is known for having very pro-Israel views and for being very critical about Islam, multiculturalism and political correctness. He describes himself as a liberal conservative.
Private life
Meotti is married and has two children. He resides in Rome.
