Gina Loudon, known as Dr. Gina, is a media personality. She is the host of "America Trends with Dr. Gina" on YouToo America network. She is a regular guest on Fox News and Fox business, and also appears on CNN, RT, and others. She has appeared on or been cited by a number of major news outlets including the BBC, Time Magazine, and others. She is considered one of the 100 founding members of the Tea Party movement.
Loudon was a national media surrogate for Donald Trump in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Gina and her husband, John, were elected National Delegates to the Republican National Convention in 2016. She gave the Commencement Address at her alma mater, William Woods University, in 2015.
Biography
Early life and education
Loudon was born in Missouri. She was a master's candidate at St. Louis University, but her degree was withheld for what Loudon claimed were "political reasons". The degree was eventually granted to her years later. According to Loudon, the experience "opened her eyes to political and social injustice".
Radio career
Loudon began writing when she was working alongside Andrew Breitbart at the birth of the Tea Party. She was hired to host a radio talk show on KJSL. It was syndicated regionally and she and her family moved to Alabama to take the evening drive show on WYDE-FM, the network's flagship station. She was soon the host of the drive time show the Dr. Gina Show. The show was extremely successful and one of the fastest selling in the Crawford Broadcasting's family of stations.
Appearance on Wife Swap
Loudon and her husband, former Senator John William Loudon, appeared on the show Wife Swap when they swapped with a polyamorous and bisexual family. Gina was the first wife to ever walk off of the set.
Personal life
Loudon met her husband while she was attending William Woods University. They married in 1990 at Westminster College, his alma mater. Loudon and her husband are Presbyterian. She is often critical of Barack Obama and liberalism. She is an avid supporter of gun rights and free speech. The Loudon family have five children, one they adopted who has Down Syndrome, and currently reside in Southern California. Loudon made headlines in 2014 when she penned a 2,000 word essay in response to the 40-year age gap in the relationship between her daughter Lyda and actor Steven Bauer.
