Biography

Frederick Glover Craig (born 16 January 1893) was a Scottish footballer who played as a goalkeeper.

He began his career with his hometown club, Larkhall Thistle. before joining Plymouth Argyle in 1912. He made four appearances in his first season with the club as they became Southern League champions, and succeeded Titch Horne as Argyle's first choice goalkeeper before the First World War. He played for Motherwell and Hamilton Academical as a guest during the war, and regained his place in the team after the conflict. He became the club's first Football League goalkeeper when the club joined in 1920 and would remain as their first choice goalkeeper for the next ten years. He ended his career at Home Park on a high as the club won the Third Division South and promotion to the Second Division for the first time in 1930. During his 18-year attachment with the club, Craig made 467 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals. Towards the end of his Argyle career, he occasionally filled in as the team's penalty taker. Craig moved north in 1930 to play for Barrow in the Third Division North, where he would finish his career.
